Turbo charging with variable nozzle rings results in high efficiency in a wider load range compared to traditional turbochargers.
Together with Maersk, ABB will install the new A100 VTG Turbo Charger with variable nozzle rings onboard Alexander Maersk.
With this new variable nozzle technology, the turbo charger efficiency remains at 100% within engine loads down to 60%.
